3 Month Worry Free Holiday

It used to be difficult to get travel insurance pre existing conditions but now with a company that specialises in exactly this problem it could not be easier to get an online quote to cover anything from diabetes to far more chronic and even terminal illness.

Even the healthiest of us should make sure to have travel insurance but it is particularly important for those suffering an existing condition that requires regular medication.

For every horror story about a person marooned in some far flung hospital on the other side of the world unable to be released before all the bills have been paid, there are equally many people who have experienced the huge relief of having costly bills and even private flights home.

Residents within the EU are supposed to be covered no matter where they are on business or holiday but even here there are often complications or peripheral problems with additional costs such as extra accommodation and later flights home that will leave people out of pocket.

With its So Easy Travel Insurance one of the truly excellent offers is for people between radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This is a time when after a few days rest at home many people really appreciate a small overseas break.

Filling in the on-line application could not be easier but do not be tempted to be anything but totally truthful. All insurers are rightfully entitled to check facts before issuing large sums to bail you out so all pre-existing conditions and medication must be declared.

From personal experience a family member on holiday in the Far East contracted a particularly nasty bacterium that hospitalized and almost led to total kidney failure. Only the actions of a very quick thinking unknown doctor who happened to spot her distress and rushed her to the nearest hospital saved her life.

An airlift to a bigger hospital and two weeks later a private air ambulance back to the UK totalled in excess of eighty thousand pounds and this was some years ago. Her premium for the trip had been thirty pounds.

Things To Consider If You Travel With A Lung Complaint

If you have a lung condition and you want to go on holiday it is advisable to ask your doctor first if you are fit enough.  If so and you are over 70 you should investigate obtaining travel insurance over 70.

For this it might be to your benefit to obtain a doctor’s letter as to your fitness to travel.  This will save you some time and it will perhaps speed things up with the insurance company too.

If you need oxygen you need to know that free oxygen is only available if you live in the United Kingdom.  Of course, oxygen is available outside England, but you may have to pay for this yourself.  All these things can be discussed between you and the insurers.

There are quite a few insurance companies that will insure you at any age and with medical conditions too.  You would have to fill in a form stating your medical condition precisely.  It is, of course, always possible that you may be rejected, but if you do not disclose your ailments your insurance will probably not pay out if you end up needing medical attention.

It is a fact that people who have lung problems prefer a warmer and drier climate.  However, I know several ladies with emphysema who have found that in very hot weather they find it difficult to breathe and they have to stay indoors with the air-conditioner during the day.

It may be sensible, therefore, to choose a country that is never too hot in the summer months.  People who find it difficult to breathe would also benefit going to a country that is not too hilly as this will pose problems unless you take your mobility scooter with you.

All people who are over 70 and have medical conditions to deal with it is really worth your while to start planning your trip well in advance.  You are less likely to forget something that is vital for your well being if you do this.

When you research an insurance company you should make sure that they cover all aspects of your illness.
